A little crazy dragon trying to bite its tail – something funny I sketched for Inktober that has, behind, a deeper meaning. So I decided to transform it in a finished painting, mixing styles and design.
Ouroboros is an emblematic serpent of ancient Egypt and Greece represented with its tail in its mouth, continually devouring itself and being reborn from itself.
Ensō (Japanese: 円 相) is a word that means circle and contains a deep and well-rooted meaning in Zen Buddhism. The Ensō is a symbol of illumination, infinity and the absolute universe. How Zen philosophy represents everything (the universe) and nothing (absolute emptiness).
