A painting of an injured dragon, full of scars.
His gaze is determined, hard, courageous despite his wounds. He observes the world from the top of a mountain, his mountain. Life has tested him, filled him with wounds and scars, but he continues undaunted in his pursuit, undaunted. A daisy loses its petals, but it’s still a daisy. A wounded dragon is still a dragon.

This subject, born in 2019 as a pencil and black marker sketch, has remained with me. In 2022, I re-drew it and colored it digitally, first on Snote9 and then on a Cintiq. In 2026, having discovered oil painting and starting my fourth “real” painting, I chose to paint it again. The oil lines are soft, the difficulty of finding the right colors is significant. But I’m happy with the result, and especially with the way the painting attracts and reflects all the light in any room. I can’t explain it, but the photo of the painting doesn’t convey its “presence” in person.
