My painting of Raistlin Majere, the wizard of the Dragonlance books&games and the gully dwarf Bupu.
This scene is special and is in the heart of many readers. Little Bupu, the gully dwarf, the “sorceress”, the healer. In her hand, she clutches a magic dead rat capable of open secret doors. In her bag, dead lizards and the priceless spellbook from Xak Tsaroth. And Raistlin, regarding her and giving his farewell.
“A look of infinite tenderness touched Raistlin’s face, a look no one in this world would ever see. He reached out and stroked Bupu’s coarse hair, knowing what it felt like to be weak and miserable, an object of ridicule and pity.”
