My new painting for the Dragonlance Nexus! The war is lost, and Kitiara Uth Matar is not happy. The fact Myrtani the Aurak is there, ranting and complaining about his new orders, doesn’t improve the situation. Commissioned as cover art for the upcoming DnD 5 manual by the Dragonlance Nexus “Champions of Krynn” – available on DM guild!

This scene takes place a few weeks after the events of “Dragons of Spring Dawning.” The armies of the Dark Queen lost the War of the Lance, and the Dragonlord Kitiara is trying to gain control of the remnants of their forces.
The aurak is Myrtani, a scheming aurak draconian who sees this moment as an opportunity to lead a new army himself. In this scene, they are arguing about who is in command of this area and the forces remaining. An argument Kit wins forcing Myrtani to recruit more soldiers, create more draconians and raise the dead.

Myrtani is an aurak sorcerer depicted for the first time in the videogame “Champions of Krynn” (first of the three DragonLance Gold Box games – 1990, DOS). He’s mean and powerful!
