Illustration of Solace, a selkie character for a private roleplaying campaign.
Commission for Laura C.
Selkies are mythological creatures that can shapeshift between seal and human forms by removing or putting on their seal skin […] Selkies can also be coerced or tricked into marrying humans, usually by someone who steals and hides their seal skin, preventing them from returning to the sea. (cit. Wikipedia)
Solace is a selkie bard and an adventurer; she wears her seal skin as a shawl, so that it’s always with her and no one can steal it. She playes the lyre and sings.
This night, she’s been through learning some hard truth… but she’s found a way forward that she can live with. Usually a cheerful person, tonight she’s a little sad, but hopeful for what is to come. She also wears a braided leather bracelet made by one of her closest traveling companions.

I just got this finished commission from Greenedera art and I have to share it because it turned out AMAZING! This is my swashbuckler rogue Reia and her current LI, a gold dragon princess named Olea. The artist spent so much time getting a feel for each character and really brought the scene in my head to life. I can’t recommend her enough!

PRINTED VERSION
For me, a print is a more than just a final stage for a digital painting. In some ways, the final stage is the digital one, and the print is… like it ascends to paradise, or something like that. It means the painting is so loved, it becomes something more, a part of your home, a part of your life. For this reason, I’m so glad when people show me their prints: it’s like a super fullfillment for my little painting. – Elena
